January 2020 Wine Tasting in Paso Robles (Yes, published in 2021)

We decided to stay the night after going to the Field of Light just so we could do one of our favorite pastimes...Taste some wine! My husband has told me he enjoys golfing because the golf courses are almost always beautiful. That's the same way I feel about wineries.  Although I'd rather see them in the summer, we find ourselves going more in the winter months. Still beautiful, especially with wintery clouds. This is a winery that's been around since 2000. They have a beautiful covered bridge below that looked familiar. We were watching my husband's favorite—The Hallmark Channel one day and we both said, "looks like Paso Robles." I said, "We've been there!" I went back into my Google Photos and sure enough, I found the pics. The movie was a Fairytale Christmas and had a happy ending. Surprise, surprise!

I can't remember what wineries we visited first but I think we hit three different ones that day. I just remember one day we had to stop after two wineries and rest up (and sober up). That was another day we went and were both rewarded with free wine tastings because we are veterans! My husband is a former Army Captain and I'm a former Marine Sergeant. You can thank him for his service but I thank the Marines for getting me out Flint, Michigan, even though I still like to visit once in awhile. This was the day we found Zenaidas. One of our favorite restaurants in Las Vegas has the same name. So we joined (we liked the wine and the wine tasting associate). We also bought a bottle for Chef Sterling Burpee. Make sure you visit Zenaidas in Las Vegas for breakfast. Hopefully they will get back to weekdays after this pandemic.

This (above) was the last winery for the day—could have been the first that day as it's been over a year since we went. I just remember it being a very fun day with very informative wine tasting associates or wine tasting enthusiasts—can't remember what they are called, but I have job envy.

All that wine tasting made us hungry so we stopped here. I'd go back.
