April 2020 - Chance's 21st Birthday - Covid Style

So one of our grandsons, Chance,  turned 21 in April 2020. We wanted to celebrate with him but lots of people were NOT having parties. He and my granddaughter, Jocelynn, were going to see their mom in Northern Nevada and she asked them to be super careful because she has underlying conditions and was vulnerable if she got Covid.  I searched on Amazon for "21 year old birthday presents". This couldn't have been more perfect since there was a toilet paper shortage. He certainly wasn't going out drinking, bars were closed too, and he's not a drinker. But, we gave him a beer that was in our refrigerator. We probably gave him some cash, too.

We asked them to meet us at Bahama Breeze and we could eat in the parking lot - restaurants were still not allowing indoor dining. We waited in the car for the food to be ready. I mentioned to the server that we would be parked in the parking lot because we were waiting for my grandson who was turning 21. When I went back for the order, she had thrown in a pair of Bahama Breeze sunglasses, a t-shirt, and some candy (short video, below). People are good.

Jocelynn is good at taking selfies!

I struggle with selfies, especially when trying to self-distance!

We also have a tradition, passed on from my sister-in-law, Susan. There are only three questions so you'd think we could remember them, but we usually struggle unless our daughter, Veronica is at the party. She moved to Oregon. His answers are below...

Here's to a better birthday for Chance next month!
