June 2020 - Zion National Park

Roger loves National Parks and I have certainly come to enjoy them after being married to him for so many years. One of our favorites has always been Zion National Park. It was different going to Utah during the pandemic. People didn't seem to worry about masks as much as in Nevada.

During the pandemic people didn't offer to take your picture much anymore, however, we had a very nice lady do just that. Once we got back to the car, I did pull out the hand wipes for Roger and me...we are old after all.

We stayed at a reasonably-priced hotel, The Bumbleberry Inn in Springdale. They even had their jacuzzi and pool open, again a novelty during the pandemic. We still didn't have our pool open in Las Vegas at our 70-home housing area.

This ended up being one of my favorite pictures I took during the pandemic. You may have heard Utah has funny liquor laws. We arrived to King's Landing Bistro and were told there would be about a half-hour wait if we wanted to sit outside. With this view, of course we did! We asked if we could sit at the bar and have a glass of wine while we waited, but you aren't allowed to sit at a bar in Utah (or at least in this county) unless you ordered food. So we waited for the table and it was worth the wait.

Side note...a waiter at our breakfast spot the next morning told us we couldn't have a Bloody Mary before 11 a.m. I was just curious since we were seated in a bar area. We told him about the incident with the bar the night before and he said he sometimes orders a beer with chips and salsa, hold the chips and salsa.

I love when flowers manage to grow out of rocks.

At least there were pretty flowers in the waiting area at King's Landing Bistro.
